Chromate Conversion Coating (Alodine)

Chromate Conversion Coating, commonly referred to as Alodine coating, is a chemical surface treatment used to passivate and protect a variety of metals and alloys, including aluminum, steel, zinc, cadmium, copper, silver, titanium, magnesium, and tin.

The coating provides enhanced corrosion resistance while also creating a surface that promotes improved adhesion of paints, primers, and adhesives. Depending on the application, chromate conversion coatings can also serve as a decorative finish while maintaining the electrical conductivity of the underlying metal.
